Based on a Zoom Play by award-winning playwright, Robert Benjamin, Hunker Down is the story of two isolated senior neighbors who enter into a fraught relationship as their respective families and the Covid pandemic plays havoc with their lives.
Hunker Down is a dramatic comedy that uses the setting of the Covid Pandemic to raise larger issues concerning the challenges and isolation that seniors face as they age. It deals with the sometimes conflicting ideals of rugged individualism vs community and interdependence.
In this scene, Kevin gets an unexpected call from his estranged daughter, who he can only picture as a hazy memory from the last time he has seen her.
KleinFilms is currently accepting funding for the production of Hunker Down as a full-length feature film. The screenplay is available to read upon request.
